Unpacking plan
The essentials box, the order of rooms from the first night to the first month, and the safety tasks that belong to move-in, each with a done mark.
Essential for the first night (the essentials box and the safety tasks); the room order can wait for the first day. Unpacking in order explains the order and the safety tasks.
Essentials box
Packed the day before and carried with you, not loaded on the truck.
Room order
One row per room or code. Finish one room before starting the next.
Safety tasks at move-in
These belong to move-in, not to later. Renters check the lease before drilling or changing locks.
How to use this sheet
- The essentials box rides with you. Tick each item as it goes in, the day before.
- One row per room in the order table. Finish one room before starting the next.
- Safety tasks are dated, not deferred. If an anchor has to wait, write the day it will be done.
The room order seeds from setup, so there are no example rows. As a fictional example, Noor Haddad's first night is her bed, the bathroom and the essentials box; her kitchen is the first day.
The safety tasks point to the agency guidance and to the furniture and alarm makers' instructions; the manual teaches no electrical, gas or plumbing work and gives no single water heater setting. Renters check the lease before drilling or changing locks.
