Moving-day sheet
The contacts, the run sheet of times and roles, the last walk-through of the old home and the checks at delivery, on one page you can print for the day.
Essential in the last week. Fill in the contacts and the run sheet the day before; the walk-through and delivery checklists are used on the day. Moving day explains each part.
Contacts and numbers
Fill this in the day before. Everything stays in this browser and never travels in the share link.
Run sheet
One row per thing that happens at a time. Give every row one name, so nobody assumes someone else has it.
Last walk-through of the old home
Do it after the truck is loaded and before you hand over the keys. Photograph as you go.
At delivery
For a hired mover. Write exceptions on the delivery papers before you sign, and keep a copy.
How to use this sheet
- Contacts first. On the day nobody has time to look up a phone number or a bill of lading number.
- One row per thing that happens at a time. Every run sheet row gets one name.
- The walk-through is after loading. Open everything, photograph each room and the meters, and only then hand over the keys.
- Delivery checks are for a hired mover. For a self-move, use the box register as the delivery check.
The two example run-sheet rows are Noor Haddad's (fictional): truck pickup at 8:00 and her two helpers at 9:00, with a walk through the apartment before anyone carries anything.
The sheet supports the rights the federal rules give on an interstate move, or your state's on an in-state move. It does not tell you to refuse a delivery or withhold payment; it records what you saw and wrote. The walk-through photos support a deposit return; they do not settle a dispute.
